This photo is in the last of my uploads from a recent trip to Copenhagen. I took this photo for no other reason than the light was right. And when I say right, I mean gorgeous.
I stepped off the plane and took the train to the city centre - when I was immediately overwhelmed by the quality and quantity of the light: it was perfect and it was everywhere.
I was stuck in Black and White and this is the first photo I took, I stood on the platform, jaw open at the weight and shade of light coming through the roof panes. It felt like an ethereal moment.
As the holiday went on I was able to capture many other moments when my jaw fell open and I was transfixed with light. They are all on my flickr of late. I had been warned by a friend who takes beatiful photos - she was living in Gothenburg and very recently into film photography. She was taking lovely stuff and the light was insane.
She was right to warn me… My expectations were exceeded and I look forward to going back. If you need a place to put on your wall of “must go here”, choose Scandinavia in late summer, it’s dreamy. I leave you with one more photo of mine, taken for no other reason than the light was right - sometimes you have to just look up.
